what to expect
You can expect to learn how The Akro Agate Company was formed, by whom and how the company grew from a reseller of toy marbles to become the leading manufacturer of both industrial and toy marbles worldwide. Chapters will cover the key players in company leadership, why certain company decisions were made, processes used in the manufacture of Akro Agate marbles, failures, successes and industry competition. The book will also examine marketing strategies and represent nearly every style of packaging The Akro Agate Company used to market toy marbles in a timeline format, along with examples and accurate valuations from contributing sources. ‘The History of Akro Agate Marbles’ will not cover the General Line of glassware or children’s dish playsets.

As of this writing, July 24, 2024, a lot of work remains before a proof print, final edits and final printing can take place. Countless hours over a period of two years have been dedicated to this production in an attempt to be as accurate as possible with research having spanned decades. There is a wealth of information relevant to The Akro Agate Company that requires further study. Subsequently, this book has become the basis for future projects, which will expand beyond the initial company history and past its final sale and closing in 1951.
